Magsidel, Calayan, Cagayan — Students of the CSU Sanchez Mira – Calayan Extension Campus took part in a meaningful Stress Management Seminar held this morning, November 19, 2025, an activity initiated by Campus Executive Officer Prof. Rodel Francisco T. Alegado, PhD. The initiative reflects the campus leadership’s commitment to strengthening student support and fostering a culture of mental wellness.
Carrying the theme “Mind Matters: Cultivating Resilience for Everyday Challenges,” the seminar aimed to equip students with practical approaches to managing academic and personal stress.
The program opened with remarks from Campus Superintendent Rex S. Dullit, MPIA, who underscored the importance of prioritizing mental health amid growing pressures in higher education. Also present in the event was CCJE Dean Dr. Jose Sheriff Panelo, whose presence signified support from the university’s academic leadership.
The seminar proper was led by Campus Guidance Counselor Dan Earl Barrientos, Registered Psychometrician, who delivered a comprehensive discussion on stress triggers, coping mechanisms, and the value of emotional resilience. Students actively engaged during the open forum, raising concerns and insights regarding their academic challenges and mental well-being.
Hosted by Mark Jayson E. Regidor and Ferdinand F. Liquigan, the seminar highlighted the university’s continuing commitment to supporting students not only academically, but also emotionally and psychologically.
