On October 26, 2023, the College of Criminal Justice Education, in partnership with the Cagayan Parole and Probation Office 2, conducted a coconut handicraft workshop under the college's Salaknib Extension Program titled "Tulong Ko, Pag-Asa Mo."
Held at the Cagayan State University Sanchez Mira campus, the program focused on a hands-on workshop in coconut handicraft making. Participants learned to turn natural resources into marketable products, equipping them with a skill set they can use to support themselves and reconnect with society.
Beyond the practical training, this initiative provides valuable knowledge and skill-building opportunities that empower participants regardless of their age, gender, or background. It also promotes inclusive, equitable education, supporting marginalized individuals who have been in conflict with the law and fostering community reengagement.
The project reflects the CCJE's commitment to creating a positive social impact through education and reducing barriers to opportunity, exemplified by initiatives like coconut handicraft making.
