After going through the admin and tactical aspects inspection, the Cagayan State University – Sanchez Mira Reserve Officers’ Training Corps (CSU-SM ROTC) earned a 95.153 rating in the recently concluded Regional Annual Administrative Tactical Inspection (RAATI) held at CSU-SM grounds on May 19.

Organized by the 2nd Regional Community Defense Group (2RCDG) under the Reserve Command, Philippine Army (RESCOM, PA), RAATI is an annual activity that evaluates active ROTC units on the administrative readiness, discipline, and tactical capabilities of higher education institutions in Region 2.

The CSU-SM ROTC Unit was composed of cadets and cadettes from the campus, Florencio L. Vargas College (FLVC), CSU-SM Calayan Extension, and Maila Rosario College – Sanchez Mira. They were assessed in company drills, knot tying, map reading, first aid, platoon unit tactic, written exams, oral and practical demonstrations, and M16 disarming. The inspection focused on precision, coordination, leadership, and presence of mind under pressure.

“It is not the evaluators who will make the ratings high. It’s up to the cadets and cadettes to earn high scores through their own performance,” said Col. Jesus C. Pagala, MNSA (PA), who served as the chairman of the RAATI Team.
Campus Executive Officer Dr. Rodel Francisco T. Alegado also shared a message to the CSU-SM ROTC Unit, challenging the cadets and cadettes to exceed expectations.

“Don’t be normal. Strive, burn, and do everything you can to avoid being the industry standard. Be greater than anything anyone else has ever dreamed of you,” Dr. Alegado said.

The preparation for this year's RAATI was a collaborative effort by various campus officials and students spearheaded by CEO Alegado, College of Criminal Justice Education Dean Jose Sherief Panelo, NSTP Coordinator Valentin Apostol, and ROTC Coordinator Chris Ian Rodriguez.
