Seventeen faculty members from three colleges of Cagayan State University – Sanchez Mira Campus (CSU-SM) actively participated in the RED Framework’s Long-Term Exchange Program during the International Convocation on Applied Sciences and Technology (ICAST), held virtually via Zoom on December 9, 2024. This knowledge-sharing event fostered collaboration between CSU faculty, students, and international counterparts, strengthening academic and research partnerships.

The participating colleges comprised the College of Information and Computing Sciences (CICS), represented by eight faculty members and eight students; the College of Industrial Technology (CIT), with six faculty members and five students; and the College of Engineering (COE), which had three faculty members and ten students.

The Office of Internationalization, Partnership, and Resource Mobilization led the RED Framework’s Long-Term Exchange Program—an initiative centered on Research collaboration, Educational exchange, and Development. Designed to enhance faculty expertise, expand student learning opportunities, and foster global institutional partnerships, this program reinforces CSU-SM’s commitment to international academic collaboration and innovation.

Organized in collaboration with India’s Yuvakshetra Institute of Management and RV University, ICAST further strengthened CSU-SM’s role in international academic and research activities. Faculty and students explored emerging trends in applied sciences and technology, fostering interdisciplinary innovation.

A key outcome of this initiative is the development of collaborative research projects aligned with participants' specializations. These outputs will be showcased at the 2025 Nexus Summit: A Convergence of Minds and People on July 9–11, 2025, highlighting the impact of international academic engagement.

Through sustained participation in programs like ICAST, CSU-SM continues to drive innovation, expand global academic linkages, and cultivate a culture of research excellence.
