Dr. Verlino D. Baddu, Dean of the College of Teacher Education, together with JB Prince Sharief B. Panelo of the College of Hospitality Management and Ryan Jay A. Grande of the College of Criminal Justice Education, will represent Cagayan State University–Sanchez Mira (CSU-SM) Campus in the Exchange Program on Multidisciplinary and SDG-Oriented Research and Development at the Institute of Bioproduct Development, Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UTM) in Johor Bahru, Malaysia, on August 16–21, 2026.
The three representatives are among the CSU participants joining the international mobility program, which aims to strengthen academic collaboration, promote research engagement, and provide opportunities for faculty and student development through global partnerships.
The CSU-UTM Exchange Program on Multidisciplinary and SDG-Oriented Research and Development is a collaborative initiative between Cagayan State University and Universiti Teknologi Malaysia that seeks to advance international cooperation in higher education through multidisciplinary research, innovation, sustainable development, academic networking, and intercultural learning.
As part of the program, CSU faculty members and students will participate in a one-way inbound mobility program at UTM, engaging in laboratory immersion, research networking, academic mentoring, cultural immersion, community-based learning, and projects aligned with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
The participation of Dr. Baddu, Grande, and Panelo reflects CSU-Sanchez Mira Campus’ commitment to expanding global learning opportunities, strengthening institutional partnerships, and advancing collaborative research initiatives that contribute to sustainable development in higher education.
The participation of the CSU-SM representatives is also made possible through the continued support and guidance of Prof. Dr. Shella B. Cacatian, Internationalization, Partnership and Resource Mobilization Coordinator, and Prof. Dr. Rodel Francisco T. Alegado, Campus Executive Officer, who have continuously supported faculty and student mobility initiatives and provided assistance in creating opportunities for international academic engagement and collaboration.
