𝐒𝐔-𝐒𝐌 𝐫𝐚𝐧𝐤𝐬 𝟑𝐫𝐝 𝐢𝐧 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟓 𝐖𝐔𝐑𝐈 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐄𝐧𝐭𝐫𝐞𝐩𝐫𝐞𝐧𝐞𝐮𝐫𝐢𝐚𝐥 𝐒𝐩𝐢𝐫𝐢𝐭
Cagayan State University-Sanchez Mira (CSU-SM) has gained international recognition after placing 3rd in the 2025 World University Rankings for Innovation (WURI) under the Entrepreneurial Spirit category.
The announcement was made on July 10, 2025, with CSU ranking 221st out of 1,253 institutions across 87 countries, placing it among the Top 400 Innovative Universities worldwide.
This achievement highlights CSU-SM’s flagship program, CocoPreneur: Coconut-driven Opportunities for Community Ownership and Productive Resource Empowerment through Nurturing Enterprise and Upgrading Resilience. Launched in 2022, CocoPreneur helps coconut farming communities in Sanchez Mira by turning raw coconuts into high-value products. The program provides entrepreneurial training, skills development, and sustainable farming techniques to improve local livelihoods.
CocoPreneur also uses modern marketing and digital tools to assist communities in establishing successful coconut-based businesses. A key feature of the project is reviving the Sanchez Mira Tall coconut variety, boosting both agriculture and the local economy.
This global recognition brings CSU greater visibility, opening doors to partnerships, research collaborations, and more opportunities for growth.
