Three students from the College of Hospitality Management (CHM) of Cagayan State University-Sanchez Mira Campus (CSU-SM) earned top honors in the 2nd Cagayan Inter-Schools Tourism Skills Olympics held on September 30, 2025, at the Leonardo M. Mamba Memorial Gymnasium in Tuguegarao City.
Paul Alexis P. Fonacier, a second-year student, was declared Champion in Virtual Tour Guiding under the mentorship of Mr. Rheinz Agcaoili. Meanwhile, Eva Lisly B. Tadlas (fourth year) and April Jade A. Rosete (third year) secured the 1st Runner-up award in the Tour Package Proposal competition, coached by Mr. Mark Christian L. Gazzingan.
The event, organized by the Cagayan Tourism Office of the Provincial Government of Cagayan, gathered participants from seven universities and colleges in the province under the theme, “Tourism and Sustainable Transformation.”
The victories contributed to CSU’s strong performance in its first-ever participation in the provincial skills competition. Fonacier, Tadlas, and Rosete represented CSU-Sanchez Mira alongside fellow students from other campuses, all standing as one united delegation for Cagayan State University.
CSU-CHM-Sanchez Mira’s participation was made possible through the support of Dean Angela B. Tuliao and Professor Dr. Rodel Francisco T. Alegado, Campus Executive Officer, whose guidance and encouragement played a vital role in preparing the students for competition.
