CSU JOINS 39TH AACCUP NATIONAL CONFERENCE, EARNS MAJOR RECOGNITIONS

Cagayan State University (CSU), led by Officer-in-Charge President Dr. Arthur G. Ibañez, participated in the 39th Annual National Conference and General Assembly of the Accrediting Agency of Chartered Colleges and Universities in the Philippines (AACCUP), held at the Century Park Hotel on March 24.

The event, anchored on the theme "Advancing QA: Research, Science, and Technology for Transformative Education and Sustainable Development", brought together State Universities and Colleges (SUCs) from across the country to address key priorities, including strengthening quality assurance systems, integrating science and technology into instruction, fostering innovation, and developing policy recommendations for national education reforms.

During the conference, AACCUP President and Chairman Dr. Anthony M. Penaso and Executive Director Milabel Enriquez-Ho conferred Plaques of Appreciation and awards upon various SUCs. These honors included Institutional Accreditation, recognition for Top-Performing SUCs in Program Accreditation, the Manuel T. Corpus awards, and other special distinctions.

CSU was recognized as Top 2 Performing State University with the highest number of Level II accredited programs and Top 3 Performing State University with the highest number of Level III accredited programs.

Furthermore, both CSU Andrews Campus and CSU Carig Campus achieved Level III Institutional Accreditation Status. In a significant individual milestone, Dr. Ibañez was conferred the Manuel T. Corpus Outstanding Quality Champion Award, recognizing his leadership in advancing accreditation, institutional certification, and quality assurance systems in higher education.

CSU officials in attendance included Vice President for Academic Affairs Dr. Mariden V. Cauilan, Vice President for Administration and Finance Dr. Theressa B. Dimalanta, Quality Assurance Director Dr. Marie Claudette C. Calanoga, OIC University Secretary Ms. Rio Averil Pamittan, Quality Assurance Coordinator of CSU-Gonzaga, Dr. Glyzelda H. Gonzales, Quality Assurance Coordinator of CSU-Piat, Dr. Babylyn P. Canceran, Quality Assurance Coordinator Ms. Shelley Pascual and University Registrar, Mr. Abraham C. Bangayan.
