Faculty and students of Cagayan State University-Sanchez Mira (CSU-SM) are actively contributing to the Green Framework Initiative, a long-term faculty and student exchange program in collaboration with Warmadewa University, Indonesia.

Spearheaded by the Office of Internationalization, Partnership, and Resource Mobilization, this initiative was launched during the International Convocation on Life Sciences, Agriculture, Fisheries, and Food (ICLSAFF) on December 9-10, 2024, and will continue through the Nexus Summit on July 9-11, 2025,with plans for sustained engagement beyond these milestones.
The program immerses CSU-SM faculty and students in research, knowledge-sharing, and field-based learning focused on sustainable agriculture, fisheries, and life sciences. Five faculty members and fifteen students from CSU-SM’s College of Agriculture, majoring in Crop Science and Animal Science, are actively participating, underscoring the university’s commitment to global competencies and sustainability.

Participants take part in academic exchange programs, joint research, specialized workshops, and hands- on training in both the Philippines and Indonesia, fostering cross-border learning and the adoption of best practices in food production.
CSU officials emphasize the initiative’s transformative impact on agricultural education and food security, while Warmadewa University representatives highlight the importance of long- term cross-institutional partnerships in addressing global agricultural challenges.

As the program progresses toward the Nexus Summit in July 2025, CSU-SM faculty and students will present their research findings and recommendations for sustainable agriculture. This initiative not only strengthens CSU-SM’s leadership in academic engagement and food security but also establishes a foundation for ongoing international collaborations and policy innovations in agriculture, fisheries, and life sciences.
