It is with profound grief and heavy hearts that we confirm the tragic loss of some of our dear students due to a vehicular accident that occurred on May 16 in Callungan, Sanchez Mira, Cagayan.

Among those who perished was Lenuel John Melitante, a graduating student from the College of Business, Entrepreneurship, and Accountancy - young, full of dreams, and steps away from reaching a milestone not only for himself but for his family and all who believed in him.

This morning, we also received the heartbreaking news that Jhon Lerrie Campo, a 2nd-year student from the College of Agriculture who had been fighting for his life in critical condition since the incident, has sadly passed away.

We extend our deepest and most heartfelt condolences to the grieving families, friends, classmates, and faculty members. The loss of these young souls is a tragedy beyond words. Their absence leaves a void in our campus community that can never truly be filled. We grieve with you, we mourn with you, and we stand with you in this time of unimaginable sorrow.

We strongly condemn the reckless and irresponsible actions of drivers whose negligence has once again claimed innocent lives. Such disregard for road safety and human life is utterly unacceptable. We call for accountability, justice, and the urgent strengthening of traffic and safety enforcement. This must end - no more lives should be lost to such preventable acts of irresponsibility.

As we remember and honor Lenuel and Jhon Lerrie, may we be reminded of how precious and fragile life is. Let their memory be a light that compels us to action—a call for safer roads, responsible driving, and a community that truly protects its youth.

Let us hold one another close in thought and prayer during this difficult time. And let us not forget: the dreams they carried now live on in us. We will continue to seek justice, uphold their memory, and ensure their lives were not lost in vain.
