Under the resounding theme “Soaring High: Celebrating 47 Years of Excellence and Transformation at Cagayan State University,” the CSU-Sanchez Mira Campus community came together today, June 9, to celebrate the university’s 47th Founding Anniversary.
The day commenced with a Motorcade and Parade from the Sanchez Mira Bridge to the campus, where students, faculty, staff, alumni, and honored guests proudly marched through the streets, symbolizing the strong bond between the university and its surrounding community while showcasing the enduring spirit and legacy of CSU.
The program proper followed on the campus, highlighted by a keynote message from Prof. Dr. Rodel Francisco T. Alegado, Campus Executive Officer, who reflected on CSU’s transformative journey, stating, “We gather not only to celebrate the passage of time but to honor a legacy... CSU is like the falcon—rising above the clouds, undaunted by storms, and always reaching for the skies.”
He further encouraged embracing continuous growth and innovation, and that CSU’s mission of excellence is reflected in its classrooms, educators, and graduates, particularly those who have passed recent board and licensure examinations.
One of the key highlights of the program was the awarding of Certificates of Commendation to the Board and Licensure Exam Passers from the College of Teacher Education, College of Agriculture, and College of Criminal Justice Education, and College of Engineering, with college deans presenting the awards and commending the passers for their outstanding achievements and contributions to CSU’s continued reputation for academic excellence.
Adding to the celebration, all P.E. 12 students performed a Community Dance, energizing the audience and highlighting the university’s youthful and dynamic spirit.
