CSU RANKS 221ST OUT OF 1,253 UNIVERSITIES FROM 87 COUNTRIES IN WURI 2025, TOPS IN STUDENT SUPPORT AND ENGAGEMENT

Cagayan State University (CSU) achieved a global rank of 221 out of 1,253 higher education institutions from 87 countries in the 2025 World University Rankings for Innovation (WURI), placing it among the top 400 innovative universities worldwide.

CSU ranked first in the category of Student Support and Engagement (A1), which highlights programs that promote student welfare, academic success, inclusion, and active participation.

The university also garnered high rankings in two other key categories: Rank 3 in Entrepreneurial Spirit (A4) for its programs that foster supportive environment conducive to entrepreneurship and innovation, and Rank 12 in Industrial Application (A3) for its application of industry-related education and research to generate tangible, real-world impacts.

The WURI rankings evaluate universities based on real-world impact and innovation, rather than traditional academic metrics. This year’s edition evaluated 1,253 universities from 87 countries, drawing insights from a total of 4,866 cutting-edge innovative programs submitted for assessment.

The 2025 edition covered 16 categories and was announced during the 5th Annual Hanseatic League of Universities (HLU) Conference held at Negros Oriental State University on July 10, 2025.
